We're Going on a Bear Hunt!

We went on a Bear Hunt today, in the local Forest.
We're going on a Bear Hunt
We're gonna catch a big one!
What a beautiful day!
actually, it's not, it's pretty rubbishy and wet, but who cares!
We're not Scared!!

We went past the Splishy Splashy river.
Through the
Swishy Swashy grasses
and the      Wooooo Woooooo
snow storm.

Then we came to a cave.
I see the bear's cave!
It's over there!
 Are you sure?
 Lets go in!

Hmm, no bear in the cave.
Lets keep walking.
The Ranger thought she heard something over here.
What is that, in the distance?

Is it? Could it be??

I think it might be, you know

Aaaah!! Run Away!!!

Friendship is........
Running away from the bear together.
The Ranger had another idea though.
She told all the children what bears like to eat, gave them wee bags
and asked could they go look for food to keep the bear happy.

This is a 'table' full of 'food' to give to the bear.
The bear seemed to be quite pleased with our offerings, so we said cheerio to him and made our way back through the woods.

We brought a friend of Mrs Goos along, but it was mainly Mr Goo who stuck by her like glue.
We met up with another friend of Mrs Goos from school, what a lovely picture this is.

Easter Egg Decorating

We booked into the local Rangers to join in their easter egg decorating session.
We arrived on time, pretty good going for us ;O )
Found ourselves a place to sit and waited for the nod to get going.
The Ranger gave a wee intro talk , during which Mrs Goo sat ever so well,
with her notebook and pen in front of her.

taking notes
Mr Goo chose himself a birds eye view
 Getting going.
Mr Goo completely plastered his egg with paint!
 Here are our efforts.
Mrs Goo is finishing off a base for her egg (which is the one in the middle)
The two on either side are for growing cress in.
We gave them hair feathers at the back.

Putting in their seeds.

Mrs Goo, just had to try our that birds eye view too!

I couldn't resist this pic. Poor Mrs Goo (mean old mummy!)
Waiting to gather around the table that they set all the decorated eggs onto
so that they could take a promotional pic.

Haha, managed to get a nice smile from Mrs Goo, but a grumbly one from Mr Goo.
Ah well.
Loving our first week of holidays!

Messy Church

This is our Messy Church.
A wee hall at the back of a church in the local village.
We love coming here to be told a story from the bible and then do some crafts relating to it.
Today was
The Fishers of Men
So these are wee fish, made from handprints, with wee eyes.
Then they had to make a clay fish.
We made ours by making a circle of clay then sQUISHing it down.
Another circle and then sQuish in onto the first.
then decorate with shapes, to make it look fish like.

Mrs Goo makes lunch

Mrs Goo was off school today.
She was a little under the weather so I thought better safe than sorry.
Mr Goo was happy to trot off to Playgroup though, which I thought was pretty good.
I really thought I was going to have a fight on my hands when he realised that Mrs Goo was home but he had to go to school, but no, he was just as happy to say cheerio to her and go on in.

When we got home, I thought I would just get her to relax.
It seemed, yesterday that she did too much. So a slow start to the day seemed in order.
So I popped her onto the couch with the car DVD player and her choice of DVD.
Rapunzel, no, sorry
Tangled, of course!!
But it wasn't done by the time we collected Mr Goo, so they snuggled up together to watch the end.
Happy Goos!

Time for lunch and I wondered how Mrs Goo would fair, would she want any?
Turned out yes.
And
She wanted to prepare it.

Mr Goo decided 'Ham and Cheese and Crabstick's'
His daily shout!

Mrs goo said it needed 'pink dip dip'
(Prawn marie rose sauce to everyone else.)
She got everything she needed out of the fridge and even reached up to get the sauces from the cupboards.
When did she get so tall she could do that!?
Mixed up her sauce, giving Mr Goo and running commentary as to how it was done.

So, you get the mayonnaise and you scoooop out some and put it in the bowl.
And then you squeeze........
You Squeeeeze out the................
Muuuummy! It is stuck.
Ok so you get the red dip dip squeezed out.
Then you mix them together, like this.

Oh, it's needs more red mummy.
So, see now it's the right colour.
Well, mine is a bit better than yours, Mr Goo, but it will do, I think.
Then you roooooll up the ham
and get another one and roooooll it up too.

I think we will need some cheese mummy
Can we have 5 pieces each?
1,..2,..3,..4,...5, perfect!

And open up the crabsticks,
put them in the bowls and...
Here we are!

Now, Mr Goo, you go and sit down, on the mat, and I will be the waitress.
There you are.
 Mmmm, yummy
Mummy, can we have some telly?

Now how could I say no to that?

Visiting the Dentist

Here is my boy. I am so proud of him!

Last month we visited the dentist expecting a clean bill of health because
that was what we have been given last time, with pats on the back included.

Unfortunately, I screwed up.
I got complacent.
I let my children brush their own teeth and I did it waaay to often.

The dentist decided that the best thing to do was take it way
before it got hold and fill it to help protect it.
ok
They need fillings.

My heart felt like it literally dropped into my stomach :'o (

Mr Goos appointment was on Tuesday.
He hopped up onto the seat without a second glance, the dentist was impressed.
Too cool for skool with his protective shades on
Counting Teeth
She decided that she would maybe go at his tooth with the water spray thing and see how he got on.
She explained to him what she was going to use, got him to feel
the air blower, the water spray 'tooth shower' and the hoover.
He opened up his mouth as wide as he could and she quickly got to work.
Next second it was done.

Wow.

Not even a flinch.
We then had to return for a meeting with the PDU (don't ask me what it means!)
She talked to us about our diet, how many times they snack and how often they get juice.
I had been doing my very best to keep treats to after meals, I can't stand diluting juice, so they don't get that.
And, really, with hubs being into his fitness and diet, ours is pretty good too.
So, ..  much confusion :o (
I think it was a combination between the occasional bottle of juice
and possibly crabsticks that Mr Goo snacks on constantly.
But mainly just the toothbrushing mess that we made by not doing it ourselves.

Back again today, for the other side.
(Yes, I have been at the dentists 3 times this week!)
(And my sister had a baby! Busy week going through to the neighbouring town!)

Today, before I knew what was happening, and without explaining it to him first,
she quickly got to work with the drill.
(I think she didn't explain because he had been fine with the water and possibly wouldn't know the difference. Also, by telling me, I may have passed my worry onto him....or she just forgot to tell us)

1...2....3...    and she was done

All this going on and he didn't even flinch

Just tidying up

So, ok, it is not good that he has had to have work done at such a ridiculously young age.
I am ashamed that I did not look after his teeth better.
It was one thing that I really wanted to get right,
after breastfeeding, which was the first thing I wanted to get right
but I messed up.
I can only do my very best from here on.

But I can be proud of my little boy for being the best patient she has had in a long while.
She said she would have loved to have filmed it, to show to the 10 year old boys, who make a fuss.

So, here is my little boy with all his stickers because we were all so incredibly proud of him!

Reasons to be Cheerful

Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy from the Heart

It has been some time since I have written a thing to this blog, but I was compelled to write my
Reasons to be Cheerful.

Hubs is working away from home, during the week, for 6 weeks.
This is the first week and I am tired already.
But I am cheerful about it because :

I am proud of my Hubs, because he is leaving his family to live out of hotel rooms
in order that we will have a little extra money to help us do some decorating around the house.
Moving the children from the small back room into our, larger front room.

Cheerful because we will have that extra money to move the children to the front room.

I am looking forward to the move which we will do once the 6 weeks are up.
Hubs plans to take a couple of weeks off work after it all so that we can get on with it.

His parents plan to come up, weekend after next. His mum said she is happy to help in anyway, bar painting.
So, hallway it is.

Reasons to be Cheerful

Late as always :)
But here all the same

Reasons to be Cheerful at Mummy from the Heart

1
Mrs Goo has a friend round. She has dressed herself as Snow White.
Mr Goo tells him that, 'I have to poo. I am sorry about that, but I do.'

Now he is on the toilet shouting 'The princess!?   I Love you!'

How can anyone not feel cheerful when their daughter is, happily dressed as a princess, playing with her best friend, having her brother tell her that he Loves her?!

2
I have a Job interview next Wednesday.
For a position in the after school, well wrap around childcare, at the local primary.
I really hope I get it. I know a couple of the girls who already have jobs there and they seemed quite keen on my getting it, so fingers crossed.
Though not looking forward to the 630 starts, if I get it.

3
If I think about anything cheerful, I can't help but to think about Stay and Play at the Playgroup.
Nothing makes me happier than my turn to Stay and Play :O D

Short and simple tonight.
